ABOUT US

My name is Suzanne and together with my husband Dominic and our children, we live in Selby in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges in Victoria. Known for its fertile volcanic soil and lush forests and gardens, it’s here that I get to indulge two of my passions – organic produce and herb gardening, and making natural soaps!

I hand craft my traditional cold processed soaps making small batches at a time, using only 100% natural botanical ingredients, many of which we organically grow ourselves. These herbal soaps are all made with sustainably sourced nourishing oils such as virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and unrefined organic shea butter. They are only coloured and textured with dried herbs, clays, and spices; and lightly scented with pure botanical essential oils. There are no synthetic chemicals or ingredients used, so all that results is a natural, glycerine rich true soap which is gentle on the skin and equally as kind to our environment.

For many years my family and friends have used these soaps, and will never go back to store bought commercial soaps or body washes again. We use them on our own children and even babies (I make a baby buttermilk & olive oil soap especially for infants). They’re extremely beneficial for elderly skin too, which is often thin and can have a tendency to dry out with the use of commercial soaps.

Over the years we have had much feedback, from friends and customers who will attest to their skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and keratosis pilaris (“chicken skin”) being reduced or gone, since using these soaps. I do not make soap for this reason specifically, (and there’s always a lot to be said for the diet and lifestyle a person keeps), but nevertheless our skin is an organ of the body, and what we put on it, we also put in it.

We personally enjoy using these herbal soaps because we like knowing that we are not contaminating our bodies or our waterways, and each shower also becomes an aromatherapy experience!

Indigo Herbal Soaps and the rest of the natural body care range is affordable, healthy, and locally made. They allow us a humble indulgence for our own use, and also make great gifts for teachers, Christmas gifts, Mother’s Day, baby showers and more.

Thank you for taking the time to read more about Indigo Herbal Soaps, and please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. Information about upcoming market stalls will be advised soon.
